Welcome to Story Aid Studio (“Story Aid Studio,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) explain the rules for using our website and purchasing our services or products. By using this website or booking services, you agree to these Terms.
Who We Are
Business name: Story Aid Studio
Contact email: anna@storyaidstudio.com
Services We Provide
Story Aid Studio provides editorial services and writing support, including editorial assessments/manuscript critiques, developmental editing, line editing, proofreading, and writing coaching. Editorial services are subjective by nature. We offer professional feedback and recommendations, but results will vary by project and effort.

No Guarantee of Publishing Outcomes
We do not guarantee publication, agent representation, sales, reviews, rankings, or any specific results. Publishing outcomes depend on many factors outside our control.

Eligibility
By using this website and services, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) and able to enter into an agreement.

Booking, Scheduling, and Turnaround Times
Turnaround times and deadlines are provided before work begins (or during booking) and may depend on manuscript length, scope, and availability. If you need a specific deadline, you must disclose it before booking so we can confirm feasibility. Missed calls or late arrivals may shorten your session time.

Client Responsibilities
To provide quality work, you agree to provide complete, accurate project details (word count, genre, draft status, goals, deadlines), submit your manuscript in the requested format (commonly .docx or Google Docs unless otherwise agreed), respond to questions or requests for clarification in a timely manner, and confirm you have the rights to the material you submit. Delays in receiving your materials or responses may delay delivery.

Payments, Deposits, and Fees
Pricing is shown on the website or provided in writing before work starts. Some services may require a deposit to reserve your slot, and deposits are applied toward the final total unless otherwise stated. Payment is due according to the booking link, invoice terms, or service agreement. If payment is not received on time, work may be paused or rescheduled. If payment plans are offered, they must be paid on schedule, and failure to pay may result in paused work and/or loss of reserved dates.

Refunds and Credits
Because editorial work involves time reserved and work performed, refund rules are strict. Before work begins, deposits may be non-refundable (unless we confirm otherwise in writing) because they reserve time on our calendar. After work begins, we do not issue refunds for completed work or time already spent. If a project is terminated mid-way, you may receive partial deliverables for work completed. Coaching calls may be rescheduled with 24 hours’ notice; late cancellations or no-shows may be charged in full. Digital downloads are final sale unless a file is defective or inaccessible. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us within 7 days.

Rescheduling and Cancellations
We may reschedule due to illness, emergency, or unexpected conflicts. If so, we will offer a new date as soon as possible. You may reschedule according to the notice period listed in your booking or invoice terms. Repeated reschedules may require a new booking date based on availability.

Scope of Work
Your booking covers only the service you selected. Unless explicitly included in writing, services do not include ghostwriting or rewriting large sections, guaranteed line-by-line rewrites, formatting for publishing platforms, cover design, marketing, or representation. If you want additional work (extra rounds, added word count, major revisions), we’ll quote it separately.

Deliverables and Feedback Format
Deliverables typically include some combination of an editorial letter or report, in-manuscript comments, track changes (for line edits and proofreading), a style sheet (when applicable), and a follow-up call (when included). You are responsible for saving copies of files you receive.

Intellectual Property
You keep full ownership of your manuscript and content. Submitting work to us does not transfer your rights. You confirm that you own the content you submit or have permission to use it and share it for editing/coaching. We retain ownership of our methods, templates, and teaching materials.
Confidentiality
We treat your manuscript and personal information as confidential and do not share it publicly. Exceptions include when you give written permission to share a testimonial or excerpt, or if required by law, court order, or legal process.

Website Use and Acceptable Conduct
You agree not to misuse the website or attempt unauthorized access, copy or resell our website content, resources, or downloads without permission, or use the site for unlawful purposes. We may restrict access if we believe misuse is occurring.

Third-Party Links and Tools
Our website may link to third-party sites or services (booking tools, payment processors, social media). We are not responsible for third-party content, policies, or outages.

Disclaimers
Editorial advice is not legal, financial, medical, or professional publishing advice. You are responsible for how you use the feedback and what you submit or publish. We are not responsible for technical issues outside our control (email delivery, file corruption after delivery, platform outages).

Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, Story Aid Studio is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the specific service at issue.

Indemnification
You agree to defend and hold Story Aid Studio harmless from claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising from your submitted content (including copyright or defamation claims) or your breach of these Terms.

Termination
We may decline or terminate a project if there is abusive or harassing behavior, you fail to pay, you repeatedly miss deadlines, do not provide materials, do not respond, or the project scope changes significantly without agreement. If terminated, you may receive deliverables for work completed (as applicable).

Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of [State/Country]. If a dispute arises, both parties agree to try to resolve it in good faith first. If not resolved, disputes will be handled in the courts located in [County/State], unless a different method (like mediation) is agreed in writing.

Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms occasionally. The “Last updated” date will change. Continued use of the website or services after updates means you accept the revised Terms.
